JUSTICAR OF WAR

(NPC)

✹ The Justicar of War is the overall battlefield commander of the Companies and serves as the martial arm of the Crown’s authority. All Captains answer to the Justicar, who oversees the disposition, readiness, and discipline of the entire fighting force. The Justicar of War carries the commands of the Reeve and the expectations of the King into every muster and campaign, ensuring that the Companies act with unity of purpose and remain steadfast in loyalty to the Crown. It is the duty of the Justicar to shape the strategy of war, direct the Captains, and maintain order throughout the host, so that the Kingsmen may serve as a true instrument of the realm. ✹

The Justicar of War is part of Crown Command and serves as the senior battlefield officer for the Kingsmen. Out of character, this role is responsible for coordinating the overall military side of the faction, including planning in-character battle objectives, managing faction-wide logistics related to combat operations, and helping organize the administrative work that supports them. While the Justicar has wide responsibilities, they ultimately report to the Reeve, who holds final authority over the faction.

Captains report to the Justicar of War for all in-character matters related to strategy, battle preparation, and field leadership. Out of character, the Justicar acts as the main point of coordination for Captains, making sure each Company is aligned with the faction’s goals, properly equipped with information, and aware of any adjustments that need to be made during the event.

The role functions much like a Captain but on a larger scale. Instead of overseeing one Company, the Justicar helps guide the direction and cohesion of all Companies together, ensuring that operations are unified rather than disjointed. This includes working with Crown Command, staying aware of Company disposition, and helping keep the flow of communication clear across the entire faction.

In short, the Justicar of War is the faction’s senior battlefield leader and coordinator, responsible for keeping the Companies aligned and prepared, while ultimately answering to the Reeve. The role supports the Captains, directs the military aspects of the game, and helps ensure that the faction as a whole runs smoothly during combat-focused portions of the event.
