EXPECTATIONS OF CONDUCT

✹ All Kingsmen are expected to carry themselves with honor, discipline, and steadfast virtue in the service of the Crown. Yet greater expectations are placed upon those appointed to the Stations of Martial Command. Officers bear the weight of leadership, and with that weight comes the charge to uphold the highest standards of conduct, both on the field and beyond it. Their actions set the measure by which all others take their example.

The virtues by which the Kingsmen stand are Strength, Wisdom, Justice, and Mercy. Every sworn member is called to these tenets, yet officers are expected to embody them without faltering. Let the leaders of the host act with clarity of purpose, firmness of resolve, fairness in judgment, and compassion toward those in their care. Through such conduct, the spirit of the Kingsmen is strengthened, shields stand firm, blades strike true, and no warrior falters for want of guidance.

Officers must hold themselves and one another accountable to these expectations. In their station lies the trust of the realm, for they carry the King’s will into the field and shape the discipline and spirit of the Companies. Let none forget that the honor of the host is bound to the conduct of its leaders. ✹

Out of character, every member of the Kingsmen is expected to contribute to a positive, respectful, and supportive environment. However, players who hold leadership positions are held to a higher standard. These roles are not about authority for its own sake. They are about responsibility, teamwork, and setting an example others can rely on.

Leaders should be approachable, patient, organized, and attentive to the needs of their players. They help newer participants get oriented, support their teams during gameplay, and ensure that communication flows clearly up and down the chain. Officers represent the faction both in-character and out-of-character, which means their behavior directly shapes the experience for the people around them. While all Kingsmen should try to embody the values of Strength, Wisdom, Justice, and Mercy, leaders are expected to live those values openly and consistently.

Leadership in the Kingsmen is servant leadership. Those in the Stations of Martial Command are expected to support their units, guide their peers, communicate effectively, and work with Crown Command to ensure that the faction runs smoothly and that everyone has an enjoyable event.

Leaders should understand that these expectations apply to conduct and communication both in-game and out-of-game, not merely in-character and out-of-character. The way you speak to others, coordinate plans, address concerns, and handle issues carries weight regardless of whether it is happening on the field, at camp, online, or during pre-event planning. Leadership does not stop when the game pauses. Courtesy, patience, respect, and clear communication matter at all times, and players in leadership roles are expected to model these behaviors consistently. How leaders carry themselves outside the game has a direct impact on team cohesion, faction morale, and the overall experience for everyone involved.
