✹ The Chain of Command is the ordered line of authority by which the King’s will is carried through the ranks of the Kingsmen. It ensures that commands are issued clearly, duties are understood, and every soldier and officer knows to whom they answer and who answers to them. Through this structure, the Kingsmen maintain discipline, unity of purpose, and the swift execution of all lawful orders.
At each level of command, authority is granted by the Crown and entrusted to those appointed to lead. Officers are expected to give proper counsel to those above them, to guide those beneath them, and to uphold the standards of conduct befitting their station. No soldier is to act beyond the bounds of their appointed duty, nor to disregard the lawful word of a superior.
By adherence to the Chain of Command, the Kingsmen operate as a single body, each part fulfilling its role so that the realm may be well governed in peace and well defended in war. ✹
Outside of the narrative, the Chain of Command serves only to help with organization, coordination, and planning. It does not grant authority over players, since every member of this faction stands as an equal part of a cooperative team. The Chain of Command simply provides a clear framework for communication, delegation of tasks, logistics, and unified effort. Within the narrative, the Kingsmen operate as a military force, and the in-character Chain of Command reflects that structure.
This structure helps us plan events, manage equipment, run operations, and keep our portrayal of the Kingsmen consistent. It ensures that responsibilities are spread out rather than placed on a few individuals, and that anyone who steps into a role knows what support they can expect and whom they should coordinate with.
The only out-of-character authority within the faction rests with the NPCs, who handle administrative decisions required by Fell & Fair. All other positions, even if they hold in-character rank, defer to NPC decisions.
